FAQ's (Frequently Asked Questions)


Q: Do I need to chow proof of vaccination to attend an in-person meeting? 

A: Currently, no. If the Toronto Public Library introduces or reinstates pandemic related restrictions, the Phoenix Association will comply and ask the same of any member attending in-person meetings. 


Q: Do I need to wear a face mask during an in-person meeting? 

A: Currently, no. If the Toronto Public Library introduces or reinstates pandemic related restrictions, the Phoenix Association will comply and ask the same of any member attending in-person meetings.


Q: Do I need to complete a self-assessment prior to attending an in-person meeting?  

A: Yes! Please complete the Ontario COVID-19 Self Assessment questionnaire and do not attend an in-person meeting if you are experiencing symptoms. Let’s work together to keep each other safe.


Q: What is the maximum number of attendees for meetings? 
A: In-person meetings are based on room capacity set by the Toronto Public Library. The Meeting Room 204 at Deer Park Library can accommodate 38-64 persons depending on room configuration. 


Q: How do I register for a virtual meeting?     

A: Members will be notified via email approximately 1-2 weeks prior to the next virtual meeting date with the Zoom meeting registration link.
 

Q: Do you have other locations in the GTA or Ontario?
A: At this time we only have 1 location in Toronto. 

Q: If I want to join Phoenix can I just attend a meeting? 
A: Anyone interested in joining Phoenix must attend a virtual orientation and then submit the required membership form and fee. Please see here for upcoming dates and times. ​

Q: Will you return to monthly in-person meetings in the future?  
A: For now, we will continue with alternating in-person and virtual meetings.

Q: Are there any requirements to becoming a member?
​A: Nope, you just need to have herpes (bet you don't hear that often!). 

Q: I'm thinking of attending an orientation session; can I bring someone with me for support?
A: Yes you are more than welcome to bring someone with you for support during the orientation meeting.  If you decide to join and would feel  more comfortable if your friend/family member/partner could stay with you for the meeting please speak to one of the committee members at your orientation session. 

Q: Once I become a member, do I have to attend every meeting?
A: Not at all.  You are welcome to attend as many or as little meetings as you'd like. 

Q: I have not attended a meeting in a very long time.  Do I need to attend another orientation session?
A: No you will not need to attend another orientation session; however, if it has been over a year since you're last meeting we just ask that you come with $35.00 to renew your membership.
